Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield Group and FM Logistic have opened an all-in-one click and collect station allowing customers to collect small parcels, bulky items and fresh food products in one go.

Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield Group and FM Logistic today inaugurated an automated all-in-one click and collect station, called “Station Colis@Westfield” (i.e., Parcel@Westfield Station), at the Westfield Vélizy 2 shopping centre in Vélizy Villacoublay, south of Paris. It is the first one of its kind in France.

To use the Station Colis@Westfield, customers walk in, scan a smartphone app, and pick up their orders from multiple vendors within 15 seconds. The station allows to collect all sorts of products, from standard parcels and groceries to fresh food and bulky items such as bicycles.

The service is built around three sorts of self-service automated pickup points, at which customers can collect online orders 24/7. The pickup points were designed by the parcel pick-up manufacturer Cleveron in cooperation with Instore Solution. They include:

  • An automated pick-up tower with the capacity to hold up to 300 standard parcels. The size of the storage compartments automatically adapts to that of the parcels thanks to Cleveron technology. This allows for optimising the storage place in the tower.
  • An automated collection point dedicated to bulky items, such as washing machines, skis or bicycles, which were so far unavailable in click and collect areas.
  • An automated collection point for food, including fresh and frozen food products. The French retailer Auchan already uses this service.

Colis@Westfield station aims to offer even more convenience and flexibility to click and collect users. According to the third edition of the survey “What the French expect from delivery services” (2020), 55% of French consumers use in-store click and collect services (up 6 points from 2019).

Colis@Westfield station is open for use by all sorts of retailers, not only the retailers present in the Westfield Vélizy 2 shopping centre but also other retailers interested in the solution.

We are proud to offer this new, one-of-a-kind service in France to our visitors. Station Colis@Westfield is part of Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield Group’s strategy to use technological innovation to meet the needs of customers and retailers in the shopping centre,” said Jonathan Toulemonde, the general manager of Westfield Vélizy 2.

Colis@Westfield Station will first be rolled out at the Westfield Vélizy 2 shopping centre.

With Station Colis@Westfield, customers can come and collect standard parcels, fresh groceries and even very large packages in one go. All you need is a mobile phone. We are pleased to provide the associated logistics services and to innovate for more responsible urban logistics,” said Yannick Buisson, FM Logistic’s general manager for western and central Europe.
